Singer John Newman has recalled his craziest fan encounter which left him utterly gobsmacked.
Ahead of his appearance at Balaton Sound, the chart-topping singer spoke exclusively to Daily Star about his life and career, detailing the wildest interaction he’s ever had with a follower. Newman said they “happen a lot” before explaining: “I think the craziest might be when I walked back in my dressing room after a gig and a girl had jumped over the fence, cut herself and landed in the mud, ripped her clothes and then broke into my dressing room.”

“She was sitting waiting for me when I got off stage. Yeah, that was pretty crazy, to be honest, but big respect to the effort there!” Newman also discussed his upcoming career plans and admitted that he “pictures and visualises” his goals “every day”.
“I’m a person that completely manifests everything. I have big goals and dreams. There’s big ones on there that I get laughed at on a daily basis but I truly believe in. I want to close the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. I want to close Tomorrowland, I want to have a residency at Ushuaia. I must add that I’m very much looking forward to my performance at Balaton Sound in Hungary this week too.”
The singer is clearly passionate about his career and assured fans that he will “continue to keep working and developing and learning” about the industry and himself “as an artist”. One of his main inspirations is “the people around him” like his family, wife and daughter who he aims to “make proud constantly”.
Newman fans can join the singer – known for hits such as Love Me Again and Losing Sleep – at Balaton Sound 3 July – 6 July. As well as this powerhouse vocalist, the lineup boasts Marshmello, Meduza, Purple Disco Machine, James Hype and Lost Frequencies just to name a few.
Grab yourself a ticket and come along to see John belt out his classics on 5 July at Zamárdi, Lake Balaton – just a one hour thirty minute drive outside of Budapest, Hungary.
