The group did not share a cause of death and told fans they needed time to “process that this has happened”. The heartfelt tribute concluded: “Danielle lived a life driven by love compassion community and music. She lived the biggest of lives. We will miss her with all our hearts X.”

Fans rushed to the comments to pay tribute to Danielle following her death. One wrote: “I’m so so so sorry guys. Danielle was a complete ball of light and love .. a force to be reckoned with and one of the most beautiful humans I’ve ever known. Such a huge, mammoth loss. Sending love to you both and thoughts are with her family.”

Another said: “I loved that woman so much. She was a such a special person, on and off the stage, but especially off it. Funny, kind, generous, even a little shy, but just an incredible human being. I’m so devastated by this. Much love to you all, this is just the worst news.”

Crazy P formed at Nottingham University back in 1995 by friends Chris Todd and Jim Baron. Moore joined the band as a singer in 2002 with bassist Tim Davies and percussionist Mav Kendricks.

The group released eight albums between 1998 and 2019 – combining soul, disco and house music. Their 1995 debut single was Digging Deeper and There’s a Better Place, which samples the iconic song Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

They used to be called Crazy Penis but in 2008 they decided to change the name. Moore said: “We wanted to grow, and keep growing, so there was no point in cutting our nose off to spite our face by keeping the original name.”

Moore toured with Crazy P at festivals including Bestival, Parklife and The Big Chill. She previously spoke of her passion for new music, telling Le Visiteur: “I love listening to new music. I really wish I had more time to really indulge in the seeking and searching. There’s so much great music constantly coming through but there’s also amazing old music that you can’t possibly hear. That’s the brilliance of it.”
