EastEnders actor Max Bowden has teased his future following reports that he’s leaving the BBC One soap as Ben Mitchell.
A video believed to be the 29-year-old star, which was taken by a fan, has emerged online and he could be heard saying: “I’m so f*****g excited to get out” while he posed with bystanders outside Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. Max will reportedly be leaving the show for good next month.
Since the “foul-mouthed” video has came to light in The Sun, the soap star has said: “Anyone who listens to this audio will clearly hear this is not a foul-mouthed rant. I was talking about my excitement for the future and what’s to come.” Daily Star has contacted Max’s representatives for comment.

The reason for Max’s departure comes after TV bosses reportedly decided not to renew his contract after four years. The actor was also disciplined for his behaviour on set, according to reports.
A TV insider told The Sun: “Max is ready to move on. He is proud of his time on the show and what he has achieved but he is focused on new projects and what he is doing next.”
Max, who joined Albert Square back in 2019, first had discussions with BBC bosses about his behaviour away from the show in 2022. The insider claims he was called into have a meeting with the show’s executives about his conduct.
The source continued: “He is an extremely talented actor and was always a real pro on set. However, there were concerns that his partying lifestyle away from the set could start to prove a distraction.”
In May 2022, Max reportedly began dating co-star Shona McGarty, 32, who plays long-serving character Whitney Dean, at the same time as his former partner Roisin Buckle, 38, was pregnant with their child. His relationship with Shona ended six months later.
Last year, Shona, who recently took a break from the BBC soap to star in panto revealed she was quitting EastEnders after 15 years to pursue other projects. Her final scenes are due to air very soon. Speaking to Inside Soap, Shona revealed it wasn’t an easy decision. But she also shared that she’s excited with what’s to come.
