EastEnders has teased a return to Albert Square for two iconic Slater sisters.
Lynne Slater (Elaine Lordan) hasn’t been on the BBC show since 2004, first arriving with the Slaters in 2000. Viewers have hoped to see Lynne back in the Square for a Slater sisters reunion for years.
As the older sister to Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), Lynne is also famed for her turbulent relationship with husband and hapless mechanic Garry Hobbs (Ricky Groves).
She worked in Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) café and was an arch nemesis to Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks). Although Lynne attended her dad’s funeral off screen in 2016, she hasn’t appeared on screen for two decades.

Meanwhile, Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth) hasn’t been seen left Walford in 2006 after six years on the Square following a string harrowing events. Little Mo was abused by her violent husband Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns) who eventullay died in a fire.
She was then raped by Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney) and consequently gave birth to Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), and after a failed relationship with Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) she waved goodbye to Walford.
However, during Monday’s EastEnders episode (July 29), released early on iPlayer, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) drops a huge hint that Slater sisters Lynn and Little Mo could be on their way back to Walford.
During a scene with Kat at the laundrette, Alfie asks how their son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) has been acting following his violent outburst last week. But their conversation soon turns to other members of their family.
Alfie tells Kat: “So anyway, Freddie has informed me that Little Mo and Lynne are going to be going to the caravan for a bit. As you were meant to go last week, fancy it?”
Kat initially rejects the idea but Alfie reassures her that spending time alone with his sons will may do Tommy some good. She then states that she’s “dealing” with Tommy but never confirmed if she was going on the caravan trip with her two sisters.
Will their be a Slater sister reunion in the lead up to the soaps 40th anniversary?
EastEnders airs Monday-Thursday on BBC1 and iPlayer.
