Speaking about her new project on the show, she told the presenters: “I just don’t understand how safety in this sexual scenario, campaigning for safety, campaigning for better sex, for safer sex, I just don’t understand how this can be up for a debate.
“I don’t see how anyone could find that exhausting to talk about. I think people are embarrassed to talk about it and now they’re saying, ‘Oh, so now I have to sign a contract before getting into a sexual scenario’.
“But the fact is if you are in a healthy sexual situation, just making sure your partner is safe and comfortable, that will make the experience better on both counts.”
Discussing the impact this change will have on society, she went on: “We talked a lot about the cultural impact a lot. I think in general, women are not believed, our word is not believed.
“I think a change in law is never going to be a perfect solution but I think it starts a positive domino effect of societal change, which then creates a cultural shift, which then changes mindsets.” Towards the end of the interview, the mum-to-be went on to reveal the gender of her unborn child.
Emily shared her hopes for how this new campaign and how it could improve her little one’s life. She revealed: “I’m six months [pregnant] and I wasn’t going to say this, but I am going to say this: I’m having a boy.
“I’m having a boy and so I want him to be a part of a really positive change and I want him to grow up knowing that he can talk about these things openly and enjoy his life. I want him to be on the right side of history.”
The actress and comedian announced she was pregnant in December last year and is set to welcome her little tot in June.
