Girls Aloud performed a tear-jerking tribute to their late bandmate Sarah Harding as they opened their reunion tour.
The hit noughties girl band – made up of Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – had vowed their first performance since 2013 would celebrate the life of Sarah. The late singer sadly died at the age of 39 from breast cancer in 2021.
On Friday (May 17), the Jump hitmakers group took to the stage in the heart of Dublin. After a slight delay, with the girls eventually arriving on stage 30 minutes later than scheduled, the quartet appeared on stage and performed their first song Untouchable.

As they sang their hearts out, footage of Sarah playing on pink curtains behind them as they performed for the first time without their beloved bandmate. The girls welcomed with a quick “Hello Dublin” before they belted out the emotional tribute.
Despite putting on an emotional performance, they powered through with the hit song Love Machine as more snaps of Sarah appeared in the background. Speaking of the highly anticipated six-week tour, Kimberley, 42, explained: “Our main aim is to do Sarah justice.”
All four struggled with their emotions in the heartfelt performance as they honoured the star on stage. They performed their hit heartfelt ballad I’ll Stand By You as footage of Sarah appeared on screen.
Ahead of their performance at Dublin’s 3Arean, Kimberley shared a series of snaps of the group behind the scenes. She captioned the post: “We’ve had the best time creating this show for you and being back with my girls has been incredibly emotional but so special.”
Nicola, 38, promised an amazing gig for their fans while Nadine, also 38, added: “I am full gratitude and admiration for our entire team. Thank you to everyone up to this point. Now the real fun begins.”
Cheryl, 40, released a photo of the singers on a plane as they jetted off to Ireland on Thursday night (May 16). She captioned the post: ” Ready for take-off.”
Girls Aloud, who formed on ITV talent competition Popstars: The Rivals in November 2002 and got their first No1 hit that Christmas. However, the group decided to go their separate ways back in 2013 following a series of bitter feuds.
But last November, the group dramatically revealed they were getting back together as fans rejoiced .The girls, who hosted a 2022 ball in honour of Sarah have helped raise more than £1million for several cancer charities, including The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.
