Gogglebox star Pat Webb has passed away aged 75.
Pat appeared on the show alongside son Stephen Webb for two series between 2017 and 2018. She took over from Chris Butland-Steed, who Stephen was originally cast with during the show’s first series.
Announcing the sad news on Monday (January 29), the official Channel 4 account released a statement saying: “We are deeply saddened to announce that Gogglebox star Mummy Pat Webb passed away this weekend at the age of 75 after a long illness. Pat was a much loved cast member on the show from series 10-12 alongside her son Stephen.

“Mummy Pat will be remembered and missed by her children Stephen, Denise, Sharon, Beverley and the extended family. It concluded: “Our thoughts are with the family who have requested privacy at this sad time.”
Stephen, 52, posted his own tribute to his beloved mum alongside a number of snaps shared on Instagram. The reality star penned: “Mummy Pat, you were one in a million, took everyone at face value, would share your last fiver with a stranger, the salt of the earth and the absolute centre of our world! Rest in peace mum.”
The emotional post was met with messages from support from fans who sent their condolences. Former Gogglebox star Lisa Baggs penned: “Oh Stephen I’m so sorry ! Your mum was so funny when you were both on Gogglebox. Sending you, Daniel and your family so much love x x x.”
Joe Baggs added: “Sending lots of love.” Love Island alum Abi Moores posted: “Sending you and your family so much love.”
Channel 4 star Mica Ven commented: “Sending you all our love & prayers at this sad time bro. Mummy Pat’s memory will always be remembered with laughter and warmth that’s for sure.”
Last year, Stephen announced he was stepping down from Gogglebox after a decade on the show. In a statement, Stephen confirmed he would be leaving alongside husband Daniel Lustig-Webb.
He wrote: “After an incredible 10 years… We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities,” adding they’re “extremely thankful to the cast and crew” and their fans for their support. Daniel shared the same statement, writing: “What a ride it’s been. Big love.”
