Rob Rinder has shared some heartbreaking news with fans.
The TV star, who regularly hosts Good Morning Britain, has revealed his beloved grandmother has passed away aged 96. He took to social media on Sunday (May 19) to share his sad announcement.
In an emotional post, Rob, 45, penned: “My beloved Grandma Frances passed away yesterday at 96. She adored me, her grandchildren & great grandchildren with FIERCE love. What a limitless gift it is to have had her in my life. Hold those who love you truly & unconditionally close.”

He concluded his emotional tribute by thanking organisation Jewish Care, who helped look after Frances. He also shared a series of snaps. one showing the judge lying next to his gran in bed and another showing him holding her hand.
A third picture was a sepia-coloured throwback of his grandma in her younger days stood next to two men and fourth showed her in the audience at a TV awards bash. Rob’s colleagues and friends rushed to share their condolences.
Loose Women favourite Ruth Langsford commented: “So sorry for your loss Rob. How wonderful to have had her, and all that love ,in your life for so long. Sending love and condolences to you and your family.” Gaby Roslin added: “Love you my darling.” Strictly star Angela Scanlon wrote: “Sending you so much love xx
GMB fans recently called for Rob to be made a full-time fixture on the ITV breakfast show. After he fronted a recently show with Charlotte Hawkins, viewers took to social media to demand a more permanent presence. After the episode ended, one fan was quick to post on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins are an underrated double act, give them the Friday show permanently.”
A second person said: “Very interesting how different presenters on #GMB appear to influence the content and quality of the show. Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins are elevating the brand today with really solid takes and interviews. A refreshing change from the ‘facile Fridays’ of yore.”
