Good Morning Britain viewers were left confused on Friday (May 3) due to a shake-up in its regular presenting line-up.
The ITV show is normally fronted by Kate Garraway and Adil Ray on the final day of the working week. However, the latest installment saw Kate cast aside with Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on duty.
With the show’s focus on political news, Kate later appeared to offer a round-up of the day’s other news, but Adil was nowhere to be seen. As Susanna normally co-hosts GMB from Monday to Wednesday, some viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) earlier to question, “What day is it?”

One commented directly to Susanna: “Is it Monday?? Strange to see you on a Friday.” Another penned: “You have so confused me being on this morning, just panicked thought what day is it.”
A third added: “Have I slept over the whole weekend and woke up Monday? That looks like Susanna.” A fourth asked: “Why is Susanna Reid on Friday? Kate will be p****d off.” And a fifth gushed: “Such a treat to have an extra helping of Susanna on a Friday morning.”
After Kate made her first cameo appearance of the morning, meanwhile, other viewers were left questioning her unusual choice of attire. The 56-year old donned a shiny purple blouse and matching high-waisted trousers, prompting several X users to compare her ensemble to a Quality Street chocolate.
“I can see which chocolate Kate pick’s in the Quality Street tin,” joked one viewer. Another penned: “Kate Garraway camouflaged as a Quality Street chocolate this morning.”
A third asked: “Why is Kate dressed like the purple one from the Quality street tin?” And a fourth similarly pondered: “Did Kate decide to come in as a Quality Street?”
Earlier this week Susanna’s former co-host Piers Morgan rallied up speculation that he could be about to make a sensational return to the show. The TV star, 59, famously left his hosting role after storming off of the ITV set because of an on-screen row over Meghan Markle. But he has now stoked rumours that he could be about to take his seat next to Susanna once more.
GMB were marking a momentous decade on telly after the morning show and took to social media to share a clip of famous moments from that period. Re-tweeting the compilation, Piers jibed: “Great to see @GMB pay tribute to their top 10 presenters over the past 10 years with this touching Instagram post. Did Meghan Markle tell you not to mention me?.”
Following his backhanded joke, Pier’s online community went wild reminiscing about the “good old days” when the former Mirror editor was on screens again.
