Emmerdale’s latest episode has left fans buzzing after a cryptic hint suggested the death of a major character.
Viewers were on the edge of their seats when Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) bravely ditched her toxic fiance Tom (portrayed by James Chase), who had been manipulating and tormenting her for ages.
In the gripping episode aired on Wednesday (July 24), Belle was petrified as Tom’s abusive behaviour escalated. She managed to escape his clutches, bolting back to safety in the village. Belle finally stood up to Tom after a nail-biting showdown, returning to her family and declaring her engagement off.
Then, in the episode that followed on Friday (July 25), Belle poured her heart out to her mate Vinny (Bradley Johnson), admitting Tom “calls all the shots,” reports the Express.
When Vinny probed about Tom’s controlling nature, Belle struggled to articulate the full extent of it. The plot thickened when Vinny questioned if Tom had ever turned violent. Belle hesitated and then retracted her concerns, but Vinny’s suspicions were clearly piqued.

Later, at The Woolpack, he decided to confront Tom. Tom, feeling cornered and paranoid, accused Vinny of plotting to swoop in on Belle post-breakup, alleging he’d been “sniffing around” her.
Vinny tried to calm the waters, insisting he’s just a friend, but Tom was seething. In a tense face-off with Vinny, Tom delivered a menacing warning, potentially foreshadowing his own demise.
In a heated confrontation, Tom forcefully questioned Vinny, demanding: “Just be honest for once.”

As he moved closer to Vinny, he exploded: “have you been sleeping with my wife? ” Quick to act, Belle intervened, pulling Vinny away out of fear of what Tom could do. This development has led fans to speculate that Tom might go to extreme lengths in dealing with Vinny.
