Katie Price has criticised Joey Essex’ s decision to join the Love Island villa.
The former glamour model, who has previously worked with Joey, has claimed that he’s receiving a hefty payment for his participation in the show but she’s not sure if it was the right decision.
On her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she expressed: “I don’t think it was a good move for him. Her sister Sophie wanted to know if he had a fee for going in and if the others had.”

Her sister Sophie questioned whether he had received a fee for joining and if the other contestants had as well. “Of course he has! ” Katie asserted.
Sophie also wondered if he would keep the £50,000 prize money if he won or if he would share it. While Katie didn’t respond directly, she remarked: “But it’s weird how none of the girls went for him and yet they all said they fancied him. I was pretty shocked he was on it. I think he’s got quite a high status to be going on that show, he’s quite established himself.
The star then added that she thinks he’s too big for the celeb version of Love Island. She said: “Even if he did the celebrity Love Island I think he’d be too big for the celebrity Love Island, let alone that one.”
Despite her reservations about his participation, Katie praised Joey. “I like Joey I did SAS with him and I really really like him,” she shared.
Joey, 33, has stated that he joined the show to meet a “normal girl”. Fans have speculated that he’s being paid a substantial amount for his time as the first ever celebrity bombshell on the popular ITV programme.
After much consideration, the Towie star decided to couple up with Samantha Kenny. As she was already in a couple with Sam Taylor, this meant the tattooed hunk’s time in the villa was over.
But fans are speculating that Love Island producers have forked out a hefty sum to secure Joey Essex’s participation in the TV villa. One social media user queried: “I wonder how much they paid Joey Essex to be on here? “.
Another said: “I just had a thought? ? Is Joey Essex being paid a fee for this? ? ? And if he wins, will he get the prize money as well as an appearance fee?” A third added: “They must’ve paid Joey big money for this.”
However, an insider has disclosed to MailOnline that Joey is receiving the same weekly payment as his fellow islanders – £375. They clarified: “Joey is being treated like any other Love Island contestant, he’s playing by the same rules and won’t be given any preferential treatment.
