Liam Gallagher stays in character during lunch at Tom Kerridge’s Michelin-starred pub

Celebrity chef and huge Oasis fan, Tom Kerridge, has shared a hilarious anecdote about the time Liam Gallagher dined at his restaurant. According to Tom, the rock star maintained his public persona throughout the meal, even keeping his cagoule on.

“He’s a very funny character,” Tom revealed to Kate Thornton on her White Wine Question Time podcast. “He’s very full-on. He came to eat one day in the Hand and Flowers, and not once did he never stop being Liam Gallagher.”

Tom, clearly amused, added: “He spent the whole lunch with his cagoule on, zipped up to the top. He was drinking espresso martinis right, from the start, all the way through to the end. And when he finished his lunch, he moon-walked into the kitchen to thank to thank all the chefs.”

Tom earned his first Michelin star just a year after opening his Buckinghamshire gastropub with his wife in 2005. However, it was his love for Oasis that led him to one of his proudest moments – winning Celebrity Mastermind.

“Oasis was my specialist subject,” he says. “Two Michelin stars, the first pub in the world to ever do it, and Celebrity Mastermind winner! He proudly added: “I also got an honorary doctorate in philosophy the same week as well,” reports the Express.

“My mum was so proud. Who needs GCSEs when you can win Celebrity Mastermind?

“To top it all off, Tom received a brief but heartfelt message from Liam congratulating him on his win. He just said ‘said top skills’,” Tom recalled.

Tom revealed that his early music taste was influenced by his parents, as he grew up listening to the Beatles and Rolling Stones records that were always near the turntable. This led him to develop a love for Oasis during his teenage years.

He also shared that he’s secured a private box for one of the dates on the upcoming Oasis tour, planning to treat his mates to an unforgettable night.
