Loose Women’s Brenda Edwards warned ‘not to touch’ co-star after getting ‘starstruck’

Loose Women star Brenda Edwards confessed ITV bosses warned her to “never touch” one of her co-stars when she joined the star-studded panel.

The 54-year-old broadcaster joined the daytime show back in 2018 and quickly became favourite with fans online. The star has been lucky enough to interview some of the most famous faces over the years, but confessed the star that flustered her the most was singer Will.I.Am.

In a new interview, the mum-of-two confessed she was absolutely “starstruck” by the musician, gushing: “That was absolutely amazing.” But that wasn’t the only star who left the raven-haired beauty squirming in her seat when she met her fellow co-star Janet Street-Porter.

Spealing to Women’s Own, the panellist added: “Plus, I’m quite a feely person and on my first visit to Loose Women, I was told, ‘Do not touch Janet’, so I was pleasantly surprised when she gave me a hug.” It comes after the star shut down rumours that she was leaving the show, reassuring fans that she “won’t be going anywhere”.

The star is quite the triple threat, working as a fashion designer with her own clothing line, an incredible actress and singer who competed on X Factor. She was also an accounts manager for 20 years and is a director of a new theatre production and runs a charity in her spare time.

She has also faced her fair share of struggles in her life after surviving cancer, domestic abuse and many personal tragedies. Yet she still entertains us with her warmth and insightful viewers as a Loose Women panellist.

Brenda is now close friends with her ITV co-stars, including Janet Street-Porter, Judi Love and Coleen Nolan, despite fans claiming there’s a secret feud backstage. She reassured fans: “I love all the Loose Women. There’s this myth that goes on that we all hate each other and we’re all fighting a war and that’s not true.

“We are friends outside of the show. There are several of the ladies that I go for lunch with on a regular basis. I couldn’t tell you who my favourites are, I love them all in different ways.” Brenda first shot to fame when she appeared on the X Factor in 2005 but admitted to falling into TV presenting, including hosting Songs of Praise, completely by accident.

The broadcaster recently opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis following the Christmas special for the celebrity TV show The Real Full Monty. Sharing the screen alongside her co-star Coleen Nolan, she hoped that by talking about her health battle that it would raise vital awareness for breast cancer.
