Married At First Sight Australia aired one of the most memorable weddings in the show’s history.
The iconic E4 reality show was back for another instalment on Tuesday (February 27). And another batch of singletons tied the knot with a complete stranger.
However, things took a dramatic turn during the wedding of Bryron Bay marriage celebrant Lucinda, 43, and businessman Timothy, 51, from Melbourne. Their wedding kicked off with a smoke ceremony involving a bird’s wing that left Timothy feeling “very uncomfortable.”

During the scenes, a celebrant waved a white-feathered “chicken wing” in the air to “cleanse away any negativity.” While Lucinda was immersed in the smoke, it appeared Timothy had no idea what to do.
The Aussie quipped how he wished for “something to fall out of the sky” and hit him right there and then on his wedding day. And it seemed his wish came true.
Just before the vows were to begin, rain started pouring down along with gushing winds. The rain was so intense the party had to make a run for it.
Huddled around shelter, the wedding ended up getting put on hold for the first time in the show’s history. One wedding guest screamed out: “Everybody run for cover!” as the rest of the party fled the storm.
There was also a pregnant guest, whose pal joked: “She’s having her baby” while running for cover. Lucinda was then asked by a producer off-camera if this is how she imagined her wedding would turn out.
She explained: “I think it’s better.” Taking it on the chin, she added: “All the elements came out, of elemental energy. It’s rugged, it’s raw, it’s real.
“Apparently, it’s good luck. and I’m rolling with that omen!” she added. The MAFS Aus team then started to take down the wedding because of the weather. But the sun was soon shining and the wedding was back on.
The ceremony recommenced with Lucinda sharing her heartfelt vows. New hubby Timothy gushed over his bride. He said: “You can see she’s just got a great heart. We are definitely opposites. But Lucinda surprised me. She’s a beautiful person.”
The pair then locked lips three times at the alter, before walking down the aisle together as a new husband and wife. Lucinda then told the producers: “So far, so good!”
