Martine McCutcheon has revealed she is struggling with laringitis, which has left her feeling “crappy”.
But fear not fellow sufferers, for the former EastEnders star has issued advice on how to feel better – by taking an extravagant soak in the tub. Martine, 47, took to Instagram on Wednesday (April 24) to detail her “ritual”, which she claims has worked for “decades”.
The mum-of-one explained to her 617,000 followers on her story: “If you ever feel crappy (like I do right now – oh laryngitis, you’re just the best!) I highly recommend the following ritual – I have been doing this for decades and I swear it will lift you mood.”

Martine continued: “Run a hot, bubble bath, light some beautiful candles, play your favourite music for your current mood and then put on some lipstick and the biggest f*** off pair of chandelier earrings you can find!”
She added: “Sink in the bath, holding a champagne or wine glass (whatever feels fabulous to you) and pour something deliciously chilled to drink and then just stop, take a lovely deep breath. And exhale. Repeat a few times. Let it all go. Elizabeth Taylor eat your heart out.”
It clearly did the trick for later in the day Martine was seen out and about in the car as she returned to her account to promote crime drama The Red King on the channel, Alibi. On location in the show’s fictional town of St Jory, Martine wandered the streets in a black puffer jacket, denim jeans and a woolly hat.
“Gorgeous girl,” responded one fan to her video. Another penned: “Absolutely brilliant, I can’t wait to watch.” A third joked: “So camp. We love you Martine. Never change.” And a fourth said: “Absolutely brilliant.”
Martine also suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, meanwhile, having been diagnosed in 2011. The condition leaves people feeling extremely tired and includes symptoms like having problems sleeping and thinking, taking a long time to recover from physical activities, headaches, joint pains and flu-like symptoms.
Last summer she opened up on a flare up that saw her rushed to hospital on her husband’s birthday, barely able to stand up due to her dizziness.
