Michael Jackson’s bodyguard has shared his thoughts about the musical legend’s death.
Bill Whitfield was the singer’s former bodyguard who was working with him up until his passing on June 25, 2009,. He has revealed his thoughts on what caused him to die and said “stress kills”.
He told The Sun that before his final This Is It tour came to ahead a lot “had changed” with more people entering his life, making it “hectic”. The security pro said the rehearsing was “weighing in on him”.

Unfortunately, just three weeks before Jackson was due to begin, he died from an overdose. But his bodyguard had concerns about the star being killed off intentionally.
Bill told the publication: “Do I think someone made a mistake? Yes. I’ve tried to work on the thoughts of could this have been intentional. But the thought that [he died] at the hands of someone intentionally, that doesn’t weigh with me.
“I’ve often been asked, what do I think killed him. And I’ve told people, a lot of everything. And includes a lot of us. There were so many people that wanted not only to be near him, but there were so many people who wanted something from him.
“And that can be overwhelming. He was definitely stressed out. And stress kills.”

The celebrity security pro took on the role of his bodyguard in December 2006 which was not long after he had been cleared of child sex abuse allegations. Due to the claims, Bill was unsure whether to take on the job – but after working with him says “That’s not who he was”.
Bill added: “Being that up close and personal with someone, if that was the situation, it would reveal itself. I paid close attention to him and his surroundings and how he interacted with his kids, and other people

The bodyguard said he “kept an eye out” for certain behaviours before he knew him, but confirmed nothing of the sort ever showed and said it “wasn’t his character”.
Bill added: “You had to be around him to know him and I was there. So no, that wasn’t him. And so it just still surprises me when I hear things like that.
“I’m just sorry he wasn’t around long enough to actually tell his side of the story so people could get a better understanding of who he was. He would never hurt a child. That wasn’t the man I knew.”
