Netflix fans ‘heartbroken’ as they ‘cry for days’ watching ‘best series ever’

One “heartbreaking” Netflix show has left fans with tears streaming down their faces.

Over in the Netflix Bangers group on Facebook, someone wrote: “Heartbreaking but also amazing [kissing emoji] 11/10,” as other fans flocked to the comment section to agree. One person said: “Best show, cried and cried,” while another added: “This is a breath of fresh air series…I love it.”

“I was so sad for days, it just broke my heart,” gushed one Netflix streamer as another person typed: “Cried like a baby but was so amazing [crying emoji].” More people chimed in with “absolutely loved this,” “brilliant series,” “heartbreaking” and “bawled at the end”.

“Loved this so much [heart emoji] tears and laughter,” read one comment. Firefly Lane is a drama series released back in 2021, which ran for two seasons.

The show stars Sarah Chalke, Katherine Heigl, Ben Lawson, Roan CXurtis, Alissa Skovbye and Beau Garrett. The official Netflix description says: “Best friends Tully and Kate support each other through good times and bad with an unbreakable bond that carries them from their teens to their 40s.”

Firefly Lane is based on the novel of the same name written by Kristin Hannah. The story follows two teens throughout the 70s as they learn to navigate life into their adulthood, with the story ending in the 2000s.

The show was widely received with positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. On April 20 2021, Netflix revealed that 49 million people had streamed the show within the first 28 days.

Sitcom fans may recognise Chalke from Scrubs, which aired from 2001 to 2010. The Canadian actress starred as Dr Elliot Reid in the show and was a main character for eight seasons, later taking a supporting role in season nine.

The star also lends her voice to Rick and Morty as Beth Smith, daughter of Rick Sanchez and mother of Morty Smith. Another of Sarah’s biggest acting credits comes from How I Met Your Mother after landing the role of Stella Zinman on seasons three, four and nine.
