There’s a new Netflix series that has left fans so haunted they’re afraid to go to sleep – and it’s all non-fiction.
New true crime series I Am A Stalker follows convicted stalkers speak about their horrific crimes in a series of interviews – from the falling in love phase to becoming twisted into something truly chilling. Eight individuals feature in the show, along with first-person accounts from their victims.
The second episode, entitled One Last Chance, follows John Anderson, who lost his step-son Gauge in an accident. The tragedy led to him abusing drugs and eventually abusing and cheating on his partner, who ran away with their infant son to live with her family.

But John’s actions became more and more disturbing when he failed to find his partner Rachel. He sent strings of horrific text messages – including videos where he appeared to flush Gauge’s cremated remains down a toilet. Eventually, he was charged with aggravated stalking.
Another episode follows Daniel Thompson, who stalked three women. Things soon turned violent when one of his victims was found murdered in bed with Thompson’s ex. Other episodes follow stalkers who left strange symbols on their victims’ property; stalkers ignoring protective orders; and a terrifying confrontation using toy handcuffs and a stun gun.
The series has left a definite impression on viewers, who turned to social media to share their thoughts – and fears. One wrote on X: “Just finished watching I Am A Stalker on Netflix. Really eye opening but in a way that I won’t be sleeping tonight.”
Another social media user agreed: “If you want to sleep comfortably tonight, don’t watch the @netflix series I Am A Stalker”. While another said: “I’m watching I Am A Stalker on Netflix and it is sooo scary how delusional these stalkers are despite their actions landing them behind bars.”
Someone else recalled: “The I Am A Stalker Netflix documentary is wild. It will be a confused guy saying, ‘No idea why I was arrested, I just wanted to talk’. And the voiceover will chime in with, ‘John was found in her house, under her bed, with a bag containing handcuffs, a stun gun and duct tape.”
Somebody else chimed in: “The guy with the house plan drawings and all the alarm codes asking an inmate to silence the victim, ‘Oh, I was just bored doodling!’”

More called the show “batsh** crazy” and “insane”. But they haven’t been able to stop watching – even going on to offer urgent warnings to would-be viewers. One wrote: “The more I watch I Am A Stalker the more I think people need to be more educated on stalking. Most these people don’t think they did wrong or don’t think that they were even stalking.”
Another agreed: “Please watch I Am A Stalker on Netflix. People are really deranged and lost. Most of them don’t or can’t see anything wrong with what they did.”
