Nicki Minaj says ‘they’re trying to keep me from Manchester’ hours before gig

Nicki Minaj’s Manchester gig tonight is hanging by a thread after the rap queen hinted at a conspiracy to stop her from performing.

The Super Bass hitmaker, who’s due to light up the Co-op Live Arena, has been throwing shade on social media, claiming “they’re trying to keep her away” from her adoring fans in the city. The drama unfolded when Nicki spilled the tea on X about her luggage being nabbed by airport security while jetting over from Amsterdam. She’s convinced it’s a plot to “sabotage my tour”.

Adding fuel to the fire, she dropped another bombshell on X, alleging: “Now they said they found weed and that another group of pp have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls”. She was left fuming that her bags were swiped without her say-so.

But the real kicker for the songstress is her reveal that her “plane was scheduled to leave two hours ago”, sparking panic that she might not make it to the Manchester bash on time.

At 3pm, Nicki blasted out: “They’re trying to keep me from MANCHESTER.” She even caught on camera what looked like an airport security guard asking to rummage through her gear.

Close to 4pm, she warned: “It’s a 45 minute to an hour flight. So they’re prob trying to stall for about 4 hours. Nicki then threw out a cliffhanger: “Now they said I have to go five mins away to make a statement about my security to the police precinct.”

Since then, her feed’s been dead silent, leaving fans biting their nails as of 5pm. Live Nation has yet to confirm the status of the show.

The American rapper and singer is set to perform in Manchester as part of her world tour celebrating her latest album Pink Friday 2 – a follow-up to her debut 2010 album Pink Friday. After tonight’s performance (May 25), she plans to take the stage in Birmingham and London before heading to Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, and Berlin.

Co-op Live has had its share of issues and delays. Numerous music fans have had their concerts rescheduled due to the delayed opening of the venue, which was caused by a collapse of a section of the ventilation and air conditioning system from the ceiling earlier this month.
