Noel Gallagher drops six F-bombs naming two major issues killing the great British pub

Noel Gallagher says the great British pub is being destroyed by unruly kids and ill-disciplined dogs being allowed in.

The former Oasis star’s hard partying in the ‘90s is legendary and he is still a committed pub goer. But Noel, 57, says boozers are being ruined by children whose parents let them run riot and dog walkers stopping off for a pint with their miserable mutts.

He fumed: “What I’ve found creeping into pubs, what you see now in pubs, which you didn’t used to see back in the day, is f***ing dogs. I don’t recall stepping over loads of f***ing dogs to go to the bogs in a pub in the ‘90s to do a line in the toilets.

“Kids and dogs f**k ‘em off, get home.” Noel says pubs need to get back to encouraging drinkers through their doors, and stop doing food because he hates sinking a few pints surrounded by waitresses and plates.

Appearing on the Matt Morgan Podcast, he said: “Every pub does f***ing food now as well. I’ve got a real f***ing problem with food in pubs. F**k off to a restaurant and then come back.”

Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves has given a five-point plan to save pubs in the UK, with an average of 80 closing per month in the first quarter of 2024.

Reeves said: “Brits love our locals. Let’s back our landlords to keep our pubs going. We want to save the British pub because I know what an important institution they are in so many communities.”

Nik Antona, CAMRA Chairman, has responded to the news, telling the Daily Star: “We’re delighted to see that Labour have recommitted to their policy on introducing a genuine community right to buy. This measure will strengthen the powers available to communities to save their local pubs and prevent unscrupulous developers from pricing out local community groups that want to buy their local.”

Nik continued: “Beer duty is still too high in the UK, and it’s great to see a prospective Chancellor recognise the importance of campaigns to lower this burden. CAMRA supports a reduction in draught beer and cider duty, to incentivise the production of cask beer and encourage people to drink beer in the on-trade.
