Oasis fans heartbroken as band make another tour announcement after ticket scandal

Oasis have devastated fans with another heartbreaking announcement about their future.

The Britpop band – who recently announced they had reunited to embark on a staggering 17-date UK and Ireland tour – had performed at Knebworth Park in 1996. Their infamous Hertfordshire gig was hailed as one of their best and biggest performances to date.

Their performance led to the live album from their shows and the Oasis Knebworth documentary, in 2021. After their reunion tour was announced, it was speculated that Liam and Noel Gallagher were considering adding dates to their tour next year.

But now, Oasis have released a statement on social media shutting down rumours of a return gig. It read: “Contrary to reports in some UK tabloid media today, Oasis will not be playing Knebworth Park in the future.

“There are no plans for any further UK dates beyond the currently announced UK stadium tour.” The rock group has already finalised dates for the Live ‘25 tour which include two more London shows at Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28 following the furore over fans unable to get their hands on tickets due to technical issues.

Those who are successful in the private invite-only ballot are set to be told by tomorrow (Friday, September 13) at 9pm, according to reports. The original release of tickets has led to an investigation by the UK’s competition watchdog.

The surging demand for tickets led to the price of standard tickets for the reunion tour doubling from a staggering £148 to £355 on Ticketmaster. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said its investigation will include how “dynamic pricing” may have been used.

It will also scrutinise whether the sale of Oasis tickets by Ticketmaster, may have breached consumer protection law. Ticketmaster responded and claimed it did not set concert prices and its website states this is the responsibility of the “event organiser” who “has priced these tickets according to their market value.”

Oasis has also distanced themselves from the pricing changes, explaining that the band was not involved with the decision. A spokesperson for Ticketmaster had previously said: “Fans can resell their Oasis tickets at the full price they paid through Ticketmaster or Twickets.”

In a statement released earlier this month, the band confirmed: “Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ‘25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.” Fans are holding out hope that the band will release new music for the first time since their split 15 years ago.

However, it has been reported that this will only be the case if Noel can convince Liam to add vocals to some new music he had been working on. A source told The Sun: “Noel knows the reunion is about the hits but he doesn’t want them to be purely a nostalgia act.

“He has the tunes ready to go and if things continue to work well with Liam then it could be absolutely amazing.” For more of the latest showbiz news from Daily Star, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.
