Oasis fans slam Noel Gallagher’s ‘corny’ confession after reunion ticket price fury

Oasis fans have mocked Noel Gallagher’s “corny” comment about the band’s fame amid their ticket pricing controversy.

The band has shared a video interview on X in which the singer is talking about Oasis’ rise to fame and says: “Without sounding too corny, it was a band that was made by the people.” But it seems some fans reckons that’s a bit rich given their recent ticket fiasco.

Noel is reuniting with his brother Liam for a huge tour after years of feuding. However, fans desperate to snap up tickets to the gigs were disappointed over massive queues and Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing”, which saw people pay a lot more than they expected as prices rose in line with demand.

“Shame the tickets weren’t ‘for the people’,” one person remarked on X after Oasis shared the clip. “And most of the people couldn’t get tickets,” said another.

“£350 pound per ticket ‘for the people’,” said someone else, as another quipped: “Dynamic pricing (for the people).”

“The irony that ‘the people’ don’t get to see the fruits,” remarked another miffed fan, as someone else sniped: “A band for the people with prices only for the elite.”

“Shame the people can’t get tickets,” another fan posted. One wrote: “Until it came to reuniting the band, charging a fortune for tickets, and a ridiculous ticket selling method.”

Oasis announced in August that they were getting back together for a huge UK and Ireland tour in 2025. Fans clamoured to snag tickets for Oasis Live ‘25, with a whopping 10 million people apparently logging on to give it a go when tickets were released. Many had been expecting to fork over around £150 for a ticket but found themselves being asked to pay up to £350.

The brothers said in a statement: “As for the well reported complaints many buyers had over the operation of Ticketmaster’s dynamic ticketing: it needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used.”

This month it was confirmed that the Competition and Markets Authority was investigating whether Ticketmaster breached consumer protection law.
