Oasis fans told to ‘visit Benidorm’ for ‘next best thing’ to iconic reunion tour

Fans of Oasis still fuming about missing out on tickets to the band’s comeback gigs have been told to “go to Benidorm” for the “next best thing”.

Sunny Spain will fulfil fans’ appetites according to TikTok creator @thebenidormfanatic, who revealed a buzzing tribute act belting out tunes in the holiday hotspot, leaving punters branding the show “totally awesome”. While Liam and Noel Gallagher are gearing up to rock Heaton Park in Manchester and London’s Wembley Stadium for a string of blockbuster sold-out events, some fans were left in without tickets.

A social media update raved: “Oasis Benidorm is a must see if you can’t get tickets.” A trip to the Spanish resort town of Benidorm, well known for its knock-off shows and tribute acts, seems a far better deal than shelling out for Oasis tickets.

One person suggested: “So much cheaper to go to Benidorm and see this amazing act than the real thing.” Another reveller tagged the tribute as “totally awesome,” with several agreeing a trip to Spain would be a far better plan. The tribute act appears to have fared better as Oasis weather the storm of dynamic ticket pricing.

Oasis’ management has made it clear that the controversial ticketing system which left UK and Irish fans fuming and out of pocket won’t be making an appearance across the pond for their US tour dates. Fans this side of the Atlantic were left with a bitter taste as they scrambled for tickets, some of which were being hawked at a whopping £300 a pop.

The statement from the band’s management team was firm on the matter: “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America.

“It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable.

“But when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans. We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced recently.”
