Only Fools and Horses legend Gwyneth Strong has barely aged a day since her stint on the BBC sitcom.
The actress, 64, shot to fame in the ’80s when she joined the cast of the beloved show, playing Cassandra. Cassandra was the love interest and future wife of Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst).
The characters met when Trotter accidentally took her coat, which was identical to his, before later dancing in a nightclub and discovering a connection. The same series saw the couple get married and Rodney finally moved out of the flat he shared with his brother, Del Boy (David Jason).

Despite the hardships, the couple eventually found their happily ever after, welcoming a daughter named Joan, in honour of Del Boy Trotter and Rodney’s late mother.
Since then, actress Gwyneth Strong has appeared in the likes of Casualty and Doctors. Gwyneth also had a guest appearance on EastEnders in 2016 playing Geraldine Clough.
This week though, Gwyneth was snapped on a walk along the streets of London. And it’s fair to say the actress looked pretty much exactly the same as when she played Cassandra Trotter.
The legendary TV star looked youthful as she chatted to a friend out and about. Gwyneth also has a hairstyle similar to the one she rocked on Only Fools and Horses.
Reflecting on the show’s lasting impact, Gwyneth, during an appearance on Loose Women in 2022, remarked: “It seems to have done that thing where it goes across the generations.
“So now we get kids coming and saying I want to get an autograph, and my grandad got me into the show.” She went on to express the special feeling of connecting with fans across different age groups.
A Channel 5 documentary titled, Only Fools and Horses: Secrets and Scandals, unveiled that other stars were considered for the role of Cassandra.
Author Mike Jones disclosed: “Most notably Liz Hurley. She auditioned for the role, and it was felt that perhaps she was probably a little too glamorous for… how can I say it diplomatically? Our lanky Trotter brother.”
In the end, the role was given to Gwyneth Strong who played the role perfectly and viewers fell in love with the lovely Cassandra.
