Samantha Fox has been charged with a public order offence after she was arrested on suspicion of being drunk on board an aircraft.
The 57-year-old former glamour model was on a plane to Germany in January this year when an incident took place. The star was arrested at Heathrow Airport after she had used threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress on board a British Airways flight.
All passengers were forced to abandon the flight at the time as take-off was delayed meaning the flight wouldn’t be able to land in time for strict air travel laws in Germany. The Metropolitan Police have since confirmed that the TV personality has been charged with a public order offence following her arrest two months ago.

The singer is now scheduled to appear at Uxbridge magistrates’ court, West London, later this month. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A woman has been charged in relation to an incident on a plane on Sunday, 3 December 2023. Samantha Fox was charged via postal requisition with a public order offence (S4a) and being drunk on an aircraft. She will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 22 March.”
The Sun reported at the time that former Celebrity Big Brother housemate and ex-I”m A Celebrity contestant Sam said she was “deeply sorry for any disruption caused”. The arrest came after a difficult year for Samantha. The former pin-up lost her sister Vanessa to a sudden heart attack at the age of 50 in March last year. The siblings were incredibly close.
In her 2017 autobiography, Forever, Samantha spoke of how Vanessa had saved her when their dad, who was an alcoholic, had attacked her. She wrote: “I thought he was going to kill me and begged him to stop. When I tried to get up he kicked me so hard in the stomach it winded me and he wouldn’t stop. My sister Vanessa heard what was going on and jumped on his back to get him off me.”
Samantha has been through plenty of heartbreak though, as she lost her long-term partner Myra Stratton to cancer in 2015. However she married her new wife Linda Birgitte in 2022. Sam rose to fame as a glamour model in the 1980s before becoming a pop star. She enjoyed chart success in the 1980s with songs including Touch Me (I Want Your Body) and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now.
