Peter Andre morphs into iconic X Factor duo Seb and Ant for Mysterious Girl performance

Peter Andre has shared a hilarious video of himself mocking an iconic X Factor performance of his biggest hit.

The 51-year-old took to Instagram to share the clip, in which he imitated the throwback audition by duo, Ant and Seb. The Welsh duo sang Mysterious Girl in 2008, leaving judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl in hysterics.

Fifteen years on, dad-of-five Pete declared “it had to be done” as he dressed up as both members of the wannabe duo and mimed to their rendition of his 90s tune. Dressed in the same colour clothes as Ant and Seb and donning wigs similar to their cuts, he copied their every move in footage intertwined with the judges’ comments from the show.

Peter’s fans loved it, with thousands taking to the comments section to give their seal of approval.

“This wins the Internet today. Yes Pete!” laughed one of his 1.9million followers. Another added: “I have watched the original a thousand times and this just took it to another level. I am cracking upppp Hahhahhahha absolutely love you.”

A third penned: “That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time!” And a fourth said: “Omg, this made me laugh so much this morning. Definitely needed to giggle today. Thanks Pete.”

Ant and Seb may have had the last laugh, however. Following their audition their mum went on the warpath, claiming that her boys were set to fly to LA to work with a top music producer.

Clare Martin said at the time that the pair were working with Eddie Galan, who produced the High School Musical soundtrack album, and that he was “very keen” to work with them. She also claimed that the they only chose Mysterious Girl because X Factor producers blocked their choice of a P Diddy song over performance rights. And defending Seb, she said: “Seb knows he’s tone deaf but he can rap.”

The fun comes as welcome relief for Pete, who earlier this week confessed that he and his wife Emily “can’t agree” on a name for their newborn baby girl.

The couple are yet to reveal the young tot’s name and last week Peter shared an update on their decision-making process. Responding to a fan’s query about whether they had chosen a name, Peter confessed: “Still no name. Literally struggling. She doesn’t look like any [of] the names we have thought of.”

He added in his OK! column: “We’ve been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don’t seem to agree on them.”
