Robbie Williams admits he’s ‘only still alive’ for one reason as he praises charity

Hitmaker Robbie Williams has candidly confessed that he’s “still alive” due to his willingness to discuss his mental health issues and seek help.

The 50-year-old singer made the heartfelt admission after discovering Andy’s Man Club, a mental health charity, on social media. Robbie reached out to the group, expressing his admiration and praise, as he was deeply moved by their work.

The charity then shared a screenshot of the message the former Take That singer wrote on their profile. Robbie penned: “Hey guys, I found out about your organisation yesterday. It’s blown me away.

“I’m only here because I talked. I’m only here because I asked for help and then took it. Thankfully the stigma around mental health is coming down but I realise for a lot of men in particular, there is still a long way to go.

“I want to send a big man hug to all that help facilitate this beautiful cause. I’m also sending a few people over *digitally* to offer up and huge and a cuddle. Rest in paradise Andy. RW x.”

Loving the message, the charity responded to the post, saying: “Thank you so much @robbiewilliams for your support. So appreciated!

“An amazing post to your followers on who we are and what we do, we’re in no doubt that plenty of people who are in need of support will see this post, eight years on from losing Andy. Thank you.”

Andy’s Man Club is a charity dedicated to preventing male suicide and is making waves across the UK by breaking down mental health stigmas through open dialogue. The charity was born out of personal tragedy when founder Luke Ambler’s brother-in-law, Andy Roberts, tragically took his own life at just 23 years old.

Now, the organisation provides support to over 1,000 men each week who are battling depression. Over the years, Robbie has been candid about his struggles with mental health, openly discussing his experiences with depression and anxiety.

The father of four previously said: “I’ve got a disease that wants to kill me and it’s in my head. So I have to guard against that.”

Between 2006 and 2009, Robbie grappled with agoraphobia, a social anxiety disorder that left him confined to his home for three years. The star also confessed to entering rehab in 2007 after abusing speed, acid, heroin, cocaine, and dangerous amounts of prescription drugs.
