Sir Mick Jagger did an ancestry DNA test and was left gobsmacked by the results, which found that his American lover was more English than him.
Former professional dancer Melanie Hamrick revealed she and the Rolling Stone bought 23andMe kits, an ancestry test that’s effectively an at-home taste of telly show Who Do You Think You Are?
She said: “When the results came back, I was 97% English. And guess what? Mick – Mick was only 93%, and he was muttering, ‘You’re not English, not 97% English, you’re English AND Irish, English AND Irish.’”

The Virginia-born ballerina, 37, said her parents have Irish heritage – a great-grandmother was a Keneally – and that she is “a DAR” – Daughter of the American Revolution.

She has been in a relationship with Sir Mick, 81, since 2014 after the tragic death of his girlfriend L’Wren Scott. The couple share a mansion in Chelsea with their son Deveraux who was born in 2016.
Meanwhile, Melanie told Tatler that the rock singer reads her raunchy novels before they are published. Since hanging up her ballet shoes she has penned two books in the past couple of years called First Position and The Unraveling.
The latest plot centres on ballerina protagonist Jocelyn who is swept into a world of ‘lust and luxury’ at London’s Royal National Ballet. Melanie added: “He said there’s a lot of throbbing in the novel.”
