A famous rock star’s ashes will rest at his favourite strip club.
Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, who passed away on December 28 2015 at the age of 70 following a brief battle with cancer, will have his ashes placed in an urn at Stringfellows club in Covent Garden, central London.
The popular adult entertainment venue is planning a special ceremony next month to mark the occasion, which is expected to see Motörhead’s guitarist Phil Campbell and numerous long-time fans in attendance. The urn is reportedly a miniature replica of his main one at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood, complete with the rockstar’s signature top hat.

Motörhead manager Todd Singerman revealed that the strip club “always held a special place in Lemmy’s heart,” according to Mirror US. He told The Sun: “He loved the relaxed environment – and he certainly loved the view. I know he’s relieved he can get back to enjoying one of his favourite places.”
The music world was left reeling from the loss of Lemmy, famed for his wild ways and immortal tracks. The iconic rocker’s gravelly voice was a signature in rock history, reports the Mirror.
Motörhead shared the gut-wrenching update on Lemmy’s passing with fans back in 2015, stating: “There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer.”
“He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favourite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made its way down the street, with his family. . We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.”
They signed off with a heartfelt message for the fans: “We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music loud. Have a drink or few. Share stories. Celebrate the life this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself. He would want exactly that.”
