Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden admitted she felt anxious as she returned to hospital.
The professional dancer, 33, announced in May that she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in May 2023. After undergoing a mastectomy, Amy was told she had another form of cancer and would need further treatment.
Sharing an update, the Welsh star explained she was back in hospital for an MRI scan. She told her followers: “I know it’s been a while hasn’t it since I’ve spoken to you lot.

“I’ve got to my hospital appointment early so I thought I’d come on. You’re probably thinking, ‘That’s strange, a hospital appointment on a Sunday?’ but I’ve got an MRI scan.
She continued: “I think it’s so amazing that the NHS offer a seven-day week appointment for MRIs. I’m really hoping this is my last MRI for a while now. It does feel strange coming to a hospital on a Sunday but at the same time, with my life, it doesn’t. It’s a strange one.”
Amy then snapped a photo in her hospital gown. She added in the caption: “It doesn’t matter how many times you have tests you never get used to it and I feel your anxiety only gets worse.
“Smile on my face but deep down just get this over with!” It comes after Amy revealed her hair has started to regrow after she lost it during chemotherapy.
The dancer admitted she was “happy” with the growth after looking back at how it’s changed since having her treatment. Beaming for a selfie in her car, Amy held her thumb up to the camera as she told fans: “It’s been a little while so I thought I’d show you my hair growth.”
She added: “Makes me happy to see the difference and looking back. It’s coming.” The Strictly star regularly shares health updates with fans. After one round of chemotherapy, Amy developed an infection and went into septic shock.
Doctors also found a blood clot on her lung. Shortly after finishing her treatment, she fractured her foot which meant she was forced to sit out of the majority of the latest series of Strictly.
