Tipping Point viewers were left unimpressed just minutes in as Ben Shephard announced that they would be treated to a brand new episode.
During Thursday’s episode of the ITV hit game show, host Ben was joined by three new hopeful contestants wanting to win some big cash.
Hoping to go home with the huge cash prize were complaints manager Joe from South Wales, Amara, creative director from Birmingham and catering manager Clifton from Preston.
Just before the contents got stuck into the game, Ben made an announcement that they were going to ‘shake things up’ in the studio for the brand new episode to mark the show’s 10th anniversary.
He said: “I may not be allowed to shake the machine but to celebrate Tipping Point turning ten this year we have been allowed to shake things up in the studio.
“Just three lucky players will get to grips today but will any of them walk away with a jackpot, let’s find out. On brand new tipping point.”
He continued: “It’s the start of a brand new series and a brand new set up. Three players will be facing our machine and they are all hoping to win thousands of pounds today.
However eagle eye viewers were quick to point out that the episode was actually a repeat and it didn’t take long for them to share their reaction on social media.
One viewer tweeted: “It said new but it’s a repeat #tippingpoint. Another wrote: “Come on @ITV if you are going to repeat the show at least show older episodes. #TippingPoint.”
Another fumed: “Past few weeks since the new episodes aired, they’ve slipped in repeats on a Friday, now it’s Thursday as well. I’ve had enough #TippingPoint.” Meanwhile one added: “I’m pretty sure this isn’t a new episode? How strange.
In the end, Amara was the lucky contestant who made it all the way to the final round and after earning £2,950 she decided not to gamble her winnings.
Ben quizzed Amara on how she planned to spend her winnings. She revealed: “I’ve been thinking about this for years but because my boyfriend basically applied for me I would split a bit of it with him and maybe take my kids on holiday to the Maldives. If we have cash left I would put it towards a house.”
Tipping Point continues on ITV and ITVX
