On the second day of P Diddy’s trial, his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura appeared in court to face jurors as she described “disgusting” Freak Off sessions and feeling “humiliated”
Cassie Ventura appeared in court for P Diddy’s trial.
Tuesday, May 13 saw the second day of Diddy’s trial as the rapper, real name Sean Combs, faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution.
He strongly denies the claims made against him. Ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who is currently eight months pregnant with husband Alex Fine, recently faced 12 jurors and explained how she first met Combs on a trip to Miami.
First real relationship
Cassie told the court: “I travelled with him everywhere, I was in his studios, I was just like [his] little shadow for a while.” Cassie said their relationship was “fun” and it was her “first adult, real relationship”.
The singer said that his life was “much different” to hers and that Combs “has assistants at his beck and call,” had “respect from everyone” and “travelled quite a bit”.
However, although she was smitten with the rapper Cassie claimed she later experienced “his abusive side”.
In tears
The court asked about the so-called Freak Off events and through tears she said: “I felt disgusting. I was humiliated. I didn’t have the words to put together at the time how horrible I really felt, and I couldn’t talk to anybody about it.”
‘Frequent’ assaults
Cassie claimed she once “chose to leave” a hotel after things “got violent”.
The Me & U singer said: “Sean followed me into the hallway by the elevators. He grabbed me up, threw me on the ground, kicked me, tried to drag me back to the room, took my stuff.”
Cassie said she was “not sure what happened” but claimed she was “hit by Sean and had a black eye,” and was mostly concerned about “getting out of there safely” as she had an upcoming premiere to attend.
After CCTV footage of Cassie and Combs’ Los Angeles hotel incident was shown, Cassie responded “too many to count” when asked how many times he had beaten her that way. She also denied ever fighting back against Combs.
The surveillance footage allegedly shows Combs wearing a white towel while running after Ventura as she tried to enter an elevator, before he grabbed the back of her neck, slammed her on the floor and attempted to drag her down the corridor back to his room.
How Freak Offs started
Ventura also claimed that the Freak Off sessions would start with “oil and touching” and that Combs “enjoyed a lot of conversation and describing”.
“He was directing it,” she told the court as she claimed that the people involved would engage in oral sex before intercourse began. Cassie also claimed that she would find escorts online, a task allegedly requested by Combs.
The singer claimed that she “had to show” Combs pictures of the potential escorts, which were mostly men, and claimed that they were sometimes paid between $1,500 and $6,000. Cassie branded the sessions as “disgusting” and “overwhelming” before claiming that the longest lasted for four days.
‘All kinds of drugs’
Cassie also said that she took drugs to numb herself and claimed that Combs would provide them as his staff would drop off the narcotics.
Ventura told the court: “For me, it was dissociative and numbing. I couldn’t imagine myself doing any of that without having some sort of buffer or just way to not feel it for what it really was.”
