EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer is making herself at home in the Celebrity Big Brother house after going onto the show on Monday, but some fans are expecting sparks to fly
Celebrity Big Brother fans are predicting chaos from Patsy Palmer as she enters the house.
EastEnders icon Patsy, 52, has stayed out of the public eye until recently making a grand return to the BBC soap. Now, she has entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, though it was revealed that she may have been feeling particularly anxious about signing up for the show.
However, with Patsy now officially a housemate in this year’s edition of the ITV reality titan, some fans are predicting turmoil from the iconic actress. It comes after fans reminisced about an interaction she had on another ITV show.
As she chatted with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best as she was about to go into the house, she had been asked whether she was looking to get into some drama during her time on the show. Patsy gingerly responded: “We’ll see,” prompting shock and jeers from the audience who welcomed her into the competition.
Watching the live launch as it was happening, Patsy’s presence as a housemate left some with bitter tastes in their mouth. Taking to social media, one user fumed: “Didn’t really like Patsy Palmer ever since she flounced off Good Morning Britain.”
Meanwhile, a second viewer was more eager for the drama, sneering: “If you’re wondering whether Patsy Palmer is gonna bring chaotic energy to the house, watch this video of her virtually walking off her GMB interview.”
The user then attached a clip of the BBC star speaking to Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid back in 2021, as she joined the show to promote her new lifestyle regime. However, while she was due to talk about her new life after moving to America, the star was less than impressed and argued with the hosts before shutting her laptop.
As she was being introduced, a title card for the Bianca actress appeared on the screen, which read “Patsy Palmer: Addict to Wellness Guru” underneath her. Fuming with ITV producers, she refused to do the interview, citing: “You know what, actually, I don’t even wanna do this interview.
“I don’t wanna do it because I don’t even want to look at what it says at the bottom of that screen,” she fumed. “So I’m just gonna switch off, do a real Piers Morgan, and just say it’s not okay to have ‘Addict to Wellness Guru’ on the bottom of the screen.”
Patsy continued to fume while Ben and Susanna apologised for the title card, before ultimately slamming the laptop and ending the call. Ben tried to salvage the item, saying: “It was obviously not our intention to upset Patsy,” while Susanna admitted: “I had no idea that was even on the screen!”
Responding to the clip, one viewer backed Patsy and penned: “She kept her cool, gave clear and valid reasons for ending the interview and retained every ounce of her self respect and dignity. We need more people holding media to account like this.”
