EXCLUSIVE: Celebrity Big Brother’s Chesney Hawkes has revealed the real reason why Mickey Rourke was kicked off the ITV show as he revealed there was unaired drama
Celebrity Big Brother star Chesney Hawkes has lifted the lid on what really happened with Mickey Rourke’s exit.
The star spoke exclusively to Daily Star at the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards as he recalled his time on the reality show with the controversial Hollywood actor.
Talking about his encounters with him, he shared: “I’m torn with Mickey because, because, you know, he’s on one side, a gross human that says everything inappropriate and offended everybody in the house, pretty much.
“But then there’s another side to him that was actually quite sweet. He’s like this lost little puppy in a way, and he’s a hurt man, he’s had a really difficult life. Danny and I in particular warmed to that side of and tried to get to know him.
“But it was, it was kind of impossible, because he would turn and it was scary, so, and I guess, hurt men hurt people, don’t know. It was a difficult kind of situation to be in.”
He then opened up about the real reason Mickey Rourke was kicked off after fans assumed it was due to his conduct with Ella Rae Wise, following being scolded for his behaviour towards JoJo Siwa as well. But it appears that something else happened with Patsy as well, but the scene never made the cut.
Chesney added: “There was a slight inappropriate moment with Mickey and Patsy that never made it. I can’t go into details, but I think that was one of the reasons he ended up going.”
This follows news that the film star was asked to leave the show after “use of inappropriate sexual language” directed at housemate Ella Rae Wise, as well as “aggressive” behaviour towards Chris Hughes.
A spokesperson for the ITV commented at the time: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”
Rourke has since apologised and said: “I stepped over the line and I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. ‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry.
“I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.”
