Eurovision beauty joined cult with strict ‘sex rules’ and was ‘forced to shower’

Blonde bombshell Michelle Hunziker was one of the presenters for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, but her life has been far from easy after she previously joined a reclusive cult

A Eurovision Song Contest star was involved in a cult.

Swiss actress and presenter Michelle Hunziker was one of this year’s hosts for the 2025 competition as the live final took place on 17 May.

However, the 48 year old’s current successful life contrasts starkly with her past experience in a cult. She once adhered to a series of stringent rules when she became a member of the sect, reports the Mirror.

Members led a disciplined lifestyle, adhering to a vegan diet and abstaining from alcohol, smoking, sexual activities or self-pleasure. She was just 20 when she joined the group.

In her 2018 tell-all A Seemingly Perfect Life, Michelle said: “‘Before the meetings we had to shower and put on white clothes.”

She also added “According to [one member], sexuality was an animalistic instinct and therefore dirty and low. We had to lift that instinct to a higher level, sublimate it, and turn it into inner energy.”

Just half a decade after signing up, Michelle ditched the group aged 25.

Joining Michelle on the Eurovision stage was former Eurovision songbird Sandra Studer, who hit the big time in 1991 as Sandra Simó. Her tune Canzone Per Te snagged fifth spot and she carved out a name for herself.

The mum-of-four turned into a telly fave on German and Swiss screens, popping up on shows like Takito and Swiss Award. Sandra also starred in musicals such as Sister Act and Spamalot.
