Graham Norton has sparked concern from fans after he sported his arm in a sling as he took to the red carpet for the 2025 TV Bafta Awards on Sunday night in London
Graham Norton attended the BAFTA Awards with a nasty injury.
The beloved Irish TV presenter sported a sling on his arm as he walked the red carpet. The 62-year-old didn’t let it dampen his spirits as he rocked up to the star-studded bash with a grin.
Norton wore a dapper suit for the awards show, however it was the unexpected medical accessory that really caught onlookers’ attention.
Graham’s arm was propped up in a black sling and he did not confirm what caused the ailment. Graham was in the running for the Best Entertainment Performance gong at the London-based ceremony on Sunday evening [11 May].
Norton was up against Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan for their Sky programme Rob and Romesh Vs, Declan Donnelly and Anthony McPartlin for their now-defunct ITV series Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Joe Lycett for his Channel 4 gig Late Night Lycett, reports the Mirror.
Stacey Solomon also got a nod for her hosting duties on the BBC One programme Sort Your Life Out, while Claudia Winkleman was nominated for fronting the wildly popular BBC series The Traitors.
Fans of the TV presenter may not know that he survived a near-fatal stabbing back in the ’80s when he was ambushed and feared he might not make it.
He told The Telegraph: “Getting stabbed in 1989. I lost half my blood. The bad moment I remember, because when it’s happening, is all just trauma, but then the morning after I was in the hospital ward and I remember a nurse came up to me and said: ‘Do you want us to contact anyone? Do you want us to contact your parents?'”
“In my head, I was thinking: ‘Well, I don’t want to worry my parents but equally if I’m going to die, they’d probably like to come and say goodbye to me because they’d be annoyed if I didn’t tell them.'”
“So, I asked the nurse: ‘Am I going to die?’ She went: ‘Eerrrrm…’ and I thought: ‘Don’t pause. This is not the place to pause. This is quite serious.’ So that was bad.”
