Helen Flanagan is gearing up for a big move and has opened up about leaving her cherished family home.

The 34-year-old former Coronation Street star is ready for a “fresh break” but admits she’s got some jitters about “downsizing” from the house she’s deeply invested in.

The Celebs Go Dating celeb recently let slip that she’s saying goodbye to her Bolton, Greater Manchester abode, which she moved into four years back. Helen had shared the eight-bedroom pad with her ex-beau Scott Sinclair, 36, and their trio of kids before they went their separate ways last year.

The mum-of-three, who co-parents Matilda, 9, Delilah, 6, and Charlie, 4, with Scott, spilled the beans on her plans to “downsize” as she mulls over a switch to London life. She got candid about her moving woes on the Declutter Hub Podcast.

“It actually makes me sad that I’m gonna be leaving this house soon because I actually put so much effort into it.”

While chatting on the podcast, she confessed: “I put like a lot of my savings into like doing the house up and stuff, and making it look really beautiful,” she said, reports the Mirror.

“It’s an eight bedroomed house which is obviously really hard to keep on top of. I mean, I feel really toto live here – well, soon to have lived here – because it is gorgeous but it’s a lot to like keep on top of.”

The ex-soap sensation talks about her home, saying it’s got more room than when she and Scott were renting with the fam. Helen went on: “I think I’m gonna struggle to… Obviously when I do [move] because obviously I will be downsizing so much.”

She admitted that even though she’s got her feet on the ground and didn’t want to “sound a certain way,” she reckons it’ll be “feel weird” to shift to a smaller pad after living large in her current digs. She chucked in: “Obviously, I will get used to it, I’m sure.”

Helen bagged the keys to her place in 2021, dubbing it her “forever home”. Since then, she’s made it her own, mixing up a girly vibe with a minimalist touch for a cosy yet chic retreat.

Step into her boudoir and you’ll clock her penchant for zen, modern vibes – think pristine white walls, plush grey carpet, and low-key luxe decor. The bedroom’s got some snazzy black details on the bed-frame and bedside tables for a bit of an oomph.

“I love this room – it’s just so relaxing. It’s my favourite place in the house,” she gushed to OK!

Her little lasses Matilda and Delilah kip in a dreamy mermaid-themed chamber, rocking a bespoke wall painting that turns them into enchanting mermaid versions of themselves.

The artwork also features mermaid Helen, with Charlie and their dad Scott depicted as mermen. Above them floats a touching banner that reads: “Love you more than anything in the world” – a phrase Helen would say to her children every night.

Her son Charlie, on the other hand, has a room themed around his favourite book, The Gruffalo. A captivating mural of the famous Julia Donaldson character dominates one wall, accompanied by the endearing message: “Our boy Charlie.”

Discussing her approach to decorating her children’s rooms, Helen said: “Because the rest of the house is quite minimalist and chic, I wanted their spaces to be really fun and full of character.”

This playful vibe extends to the kids’ Harry Potter-themed playroom. “All my kids are obsessed with Harry Potter – I think it’s because I’m such a big fan myself,” Helen confessed.

As she gears up to bid farewell to her family home, Helen shared: “It will feel weird to downsize everything because I’m gonna have to get rid of so much more because, for example, all my beautiful furniture that I’ve bought it’s designed for this house.. It won’t fit in my new house, you know, which is fine.”

She further revealed that a smaller property will be more “manageable”. Helen – who is rumoured to have lived with her partner Robbie Talbot at some point – added: “I think it will be better for me, actually, to be honest with you, to live in a small house because I think it might be more manageable for me.”

During the podcast recording, Helen disclosed that she hadn’t yet “chosen” her new abode. She hinted at a potential move to London, which would be “amazing for work”, but remained undecided.

Helen, who has been open about her mental health struggles and financial woes in recent years, expressed her desire for “a change” after a tough phase in her life. She stated: “I feel like I want like a change because, even though everything’s great now, it’s been a really kind of quite heavy few years for me.”

This comes as another setback for the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star as she confessed that her boyfriend, Robbie Talbot, no longer resides with her – despite her previous request for him to ‘move in for a bit’. Revealing more about their altered relationship dynamics, she emphasised the importance of prioritising her children as they adjusted to her new relationship.

Discussing the real reason behind Robbie’s departure, whom Helen met on the celebrity dating app, Raya, last year, she told The Sun: “I don’t want to say I think this is forever, because it puts too much pressure on us.

“I’d asked him to stay for a while, because I often get quite scared in the house on my own and feel safer with a man there. But Matilda is very sensitive and a proper daddy’s girl, and she struggles with not seeing Scott as often as she’d like. I always think about how she feels when she misses her dad, and having my boyfriend there maybe doesn’t help her.”
