Katie Price’s ex-husband Kieran Hayler has reached out to the former glamour model’s daughter Princess Andre after she recently opened up about her “hard” life in a new documentary
Kieran Hayler has issued an apology to Princess Andre following his split from her mother Katie Price.
This comes after the teenager opened up about the difficulties she faced dealing with her mum and stepdad’s separation seven years ago. Katie, 47, tied the knot with Kieran, 38, in 2013 but they parted ways five years later.
During their relationship he played a step-parent role to Katie’s three eldest children. The ex-couple, who have since finalised their divorce, share two children.
Princess, now 18, recently discussed the fallout from her mum’s split with Kieran on her new reality TV show The Princess Diaries, admitting that she found the situation “hard,” reports the Mirror.

Speaking on the debut episode of the Princess Diaries, she shared: “He was in our lives for like five years so we got really close to him, obviously we loved him […] It was hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see, and I think as well when we needed our mum there, she wasn’t emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on.”
Kieran has now spoken out to the Daily Mail and responded to Princess’ comments on the ITV show, expressing that the situation makes him “feel so sad”.
He said: “I am as sorry as I can be to Princess witnessing us go through such a horrible separation. Leaving them was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.”
Delving deeper into the “difficult” circumstances that followed their split, Kieran revealed he’s keen to reach out and offer his support to Princess. Kieran explained that when a marriage crumbles and a parent moves out, it completely “rocks” any children caught in the middle.
He acknowledged that whilst the separation from Katie hit the grown-ups hard, it equally “disrupted” and “affected” the youngsters. Kieran emphasised that he “made sure” to maintain contact with his stepchildren following the break-up, though he conceded that such bonds “disappear over time”.
He explained: “I regret the way things happened but at the same time those are issues I never put around the children, they were put around the children by everything becoming so public.”
