Kevin Hart hosted the BET Awards on June 9 and didn’t hold back when it came to his opening monologue, as he made a savage joke about P. Diddy’s sex parties
Kevin Hart took a cheeky jab at Sean “P. Diddy” Combs during his opening monologue at the BET Awards.
The ceremony, aired live on June 9, saw Hart take the helm and lay down some house rules for the evening. He threw shade at after-show parties, particularly poking fun at Diddy’s notorious party reputation, by outright banning any post-award antics.
Kevin said: “Also, I’m going to do my part. I’m shutting down the idea of afterparties. No afterparties tonight. None, take your a–es home after this. That’s why I did it on a Monday. No afterparties.”
Ramping up the banter, he continued: “That’s where s*** gets slippery at these damn afterparties. Ok. We learning a lot about people. We learning a lot.”
Items reportedly seized from Diddy’s Miami pad in a March 2024 raid included baby oil and lube that were allegedly used in Diddy’s ‘freak offs’.
During Diddy’s sex trafficking court case, his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura gave evidence that baby oil used often, with Diddy himself allegedly pushing people to use it, and claimed that he had a baby pool brought in filled with baby oil for her to submerge herself in.
Kevin dropped a potential hint during his speech at the BET Awards, quipping to the audience: “No yachts. No boats. Cardi B, no pink stuff. What the f—? Everyone’s getting hit tonight. It’s gonna be a good time.”
The term “Pink stuff” could be an allusion to pink cocaine, a substance that has allegedly cropped up in several civil lawsuits against Diddy. Intriguingly, a suspicious pink powder was discovered in the rapper’s hotel room when he was apprehended in September 2024, reports the Mirror US.
Initially thought to be ecstasy, the powder was sent for further analysis.
A civil lawsuit lodged by Lil Rod alleges that Diddy requested his staff to procure tuci, a street drug colloquially known as “pink cocaine.” Lil Rod went on to claim that Diddy “required all employees, from the butler to the chef to the housekeepers, to walk around with a black Prada pouch or fanny pack filled with a littany of drugs.
The drug was even potentially implicated in the tragic death of Liam Payne, who plummeted from a balcony in Argentina last October.
Rap mogul Diddy is currently embroiled in a series of serious allegations, with five charges levelled against him across three federal indictments, including sex trafficking, conspiracy racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. However, he has denied all charges, along with separate allegations in civil lawsuits.
Many fans were left unimpressed with Kevin Hart’s reference to Diddy during the event. “Ewwww I’m sorry NOT sorry. Kevin Hart is not funny why would they let him open with a Diddy reference. This finna be a long night with him hosting,” one fan expressed on X (formerly Twitter).
Another echoed the sentiment, stating: “Diddy jokes to start off the #BETAwards the look of discomfort on folks faces.”
