Maura Higgins has broken her cover after been caught on camera sharing a cheeky smooch with her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmate Danny Jones at a BRIT Awards afterparty.
The ex Islander has finally emerged for the first time since the scandalous ‘kiss’. The star was seen waiting for a taxi at her flat complex, maintaining a low profile following the clip emerging.
Maura opted for a casual look in comfy black trousers and a leather jacket, seemingly trying to conceal her identity with a matching black cap. The reality TV star chose to go makeup-free for this outing.
The McFly frontman, 38, and the former Love Island bombshell, 34, who both braved the jungle last year, hit up the O2 Arena in London for the star-studded event on Saturday night. They were later seen leaving an after-bash together.
The duo rubbed shoulders with celebs like Sam Thompson, Pete Wicks, Olivia Attwood, Calum Scott, and Oti Mabuse at the bash. Although Danny rocked up to the awards with his bandmate Tom Fletcher, he flew solo from his McFly crew at the swanky afterparty where he and Maura reportedly got rather cosy.
At the Universal Music afterparty held at 180 Studios on the Strand, whispers are flying that Danny and Maura locked lips in a “drunken kiss”. A video obtained by the Sun seems to capture Danny, who tied the knot with Georgia Horsley back in 2014, planting a kiss on Maura’s lips as they chatted away.
An insider revealed to the publication, claiming the pair “seemed to be having a great time,” and mentioned: “They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss,” reports the Mirror.
The source at the afterparty noted their “seem to have a close friendship” which developed during their stint on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity last year – a show that Danny won. They were reportedly “talking and laughing for ages”.
It’s been suggested that they spent 90 minutes together at the event while other guests partied around them. A source revealed to the media that Danny seemed to be offering Maura advice and even put his arm around her at one point.
They added that she rested her head on his shoulder as they chatted with friends, following her breakup with Pete Wicks. The insider disclosed that just before 3am, Danny and Maura entered the venue’s foyer together, where their alleged kiss was caught on camera.
The duo then reportedly grinned as they were snapped leaving with former I’m A Celebrity co-star, Oti.
Sources reveal that Danny and Maura were spotted sharing a laugh at Sony Music’s afterparty at Nobu Hotel just an hour later. The former jungle mates were reportedly “still grinning” and “joking about” at the second afterparty.
McFly’s Danny has been wedded to his wife Georgia, mother of their seven year old son Cooper, since 2014. Maura was previously linked romantically to Pete, but reports last month suggested they had split, deciding they’re better off as friends.
However, it’s said that ex-couple Maura and Pete managed to avoid crossing paths at the BRIT Awards red carpet, during the ceremony, and even at the afterparty. Georgia, Danny’s wife, broke her silence on Monday following images of the McFly star kissing Maura surfacing.

Throughout the conversation, Georgia kept the focus solely on her and Danny’s six year old son, Cooper, without mentioning her husband at any point. She talked about motherhood, their recent move, and even shared memories of their trip to Australia to visit Danny during his stint on I’m A Celebrity, without directly naming him.
