Maura Higgins has recently hit headlines after being pictured sharing a ‘drunken kiss’ with McFly singer Danny Jones – but she knows exactly how to handle the situation
Maura Higgins has shared how she handles situations where she’s pictured with male celebrities at swanky VIP events.
The newly-single Love Island alum, 34, has been caught up in a controversy with married McFly star Danny Jones after a video was leaked of the pair of them sharing a ‘drunken kiss’ at a BRITs after party.
But this isn’t her first rodeo when it comes to dealing with rumours and she knows exactly how to handle situations like these now.
Speaking with Paul C Brunson’s on his We Need To Talk podcast in December about other moments in the past like these, where she’s been papped with other famous faces, Maura said: “I don’t really care, I never come out and go, ‘This is so not true’.
“I’ve learned saying nothing and the story will die quicker, so you’re better off just saying nothing. I think I’ve just got used to it now.
“If I bump into a guy at an event and some sneaky person takes a photo and sells it to the press, like I’m gonna be put with him tomorrow, whatever, like, my friends know the truth, my family know the truth. I know the truth, that’s really all that matters. That’s it. I don’t really care.”
Earlier in the podcast, she also opened up about her past relationships and how she doesn’t have a “good track record” when it comes to dating. Maura explained: “I think men and women whether it’s a friendship or a partnership, I think they complete each other, like that’s how I feel about it. I don’t know, I get on so well with men as friends, not as partners.
“I mean, I’ve not had a great track record in relationships.” Before adding later in the conversation: “I just feel like apart from my best friend, every guy has just let me down. I expect to be let down and you can never be in a healthy relationship if I’m expecting that.”
Maura has had a string of romances in the spotlight which include relationships with Love Island stars Curtis Pritchard and Chris Taylor, Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice and most recently TOWIE alum Pete Wicks.
