Bob Bryar, the former drummer of My Chemical Romance, was tragically found dead in November 2024.

As per his post-mortem report obtained by The Mirror, two letters were discovered near his body, “one addressed to his dogs and the other reportedly listing emergency contacts.”

After 22 days without any contact, Bob was found during a wellness check conducted by police officers. The precise date of Bob’s death remains unknown, but it was reported that his body was in a state of “decomposition” when police discovered it just days before Thanksgiving (November 28 2024).

Authorities have ruled out any foul play, noting that all his weapons and music equipment at his home were untouched.

The autopsy report disclosed that three nitrous oxide canisters fitted with tubing were found close to his body, although it did not confirm whether the substance contributed to his death or if there was an intentional or unintentional overdose.

“It remains unknown whether the nitrous oxide canisters were full or empty, if the antidepressant medication was in count, or the exact contents of the letters,” the report stated.

The report did not provide a specific conclusion on Bob’s cause of death. The medical examiner wrote: “It is my opinion that the cause and manner of death … are best classified as undetermined.”

Furthermore, they noted it was unclear if it was an intentional or unintentional overdose. Following the grim discovery, Animal Control officers arrived at Bob’s residence and removed two dogs from the property.

When Bob was found, his body was in a state of decay, with indications that his dogs had consumed part of his remains.

Rolling Stone magazine received a statement from a My Chemical Romance representative which read: “The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing.”

The band expressed their sorrow on social media, saying: “It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace.”

Frank Iero shared his disbelief on Instagram, stating: “I still don’t feel like this is real… people your age, your peers, the ones you shared so much time and experience with aren’t supposed to just suddenly leave your life forever. But I suppose permanence isn’t really a concept humans are meant to understand.”
