Rock legends Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne are set for a major UK festival with the likes of Metallica and Guns N’ Roses joining them at Villa back next month, but the singer’s health is causing concern
Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Sabbath bandmates have no idea if he will be able to stand at their farewell gig in under a month.
The heavy metal rockers are headlining a one-day festival, featuring bands they inspired including Metallica and Guns N’ Roses.
But bandmate Tony Iommi confessed “we don’t know what’s going to happen” at the huge show in Villa Park, Birmingham on July 5.
Sources said Ozzy, who suffers from Parkinson’s and spinal issues, has been undergoing physical therapy to be ready to walk on stage.
Iommi admitted: ”This would be a big, monumental thing if it all comes good. The worrying thing for me is the unknown.
“We don’t know what’s going to happen.
“You’re used to Ozzy running around, but he certainly won’t be doing that for this show.
“I don’t know if he’s going to be standing or sitting on a throne or what.”
Ozzy is set to reunite with the band’s original line up of, Tony, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for Back To The Beginning concert.
It will be the first time in 20 years the group have played together for the charity bash, hosted by actor Jason Momoa.
Ozzy recently confirmed he will not be able to deliver full sets, but said he will “do what I can”.
Iommi added: ”Once we start playing, then we’ll know we’re doing it.
“It’s always a worry, even when we did tours before, there’s always that build-up, and then it gets to the point that we do it and it’s okay.”
Despite just five weeks to go Ozzy recently said he didn’t know whether fans will see him on a throne, mini Segway or standing.
He said: “I don’t f****** know.
“If I’m in a throne, okay! If I’m in a f****** movable f****** cart, I don’t know.“
