The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh is set to embark on a journey to Egypt in a new ITV show, as betting odds suggest he could be set to leave the popular quiz series
Bradley Walsh, the host of The Chase, is setting off on an extraordinary trip to Egypt, fuelled by a desire to learn how the Pyramids were constructed over 4,500 years ago.
Despite the 64-year-old ITV presenter having no plans to leave the long-running ITV quiz show, recent betting odds from betideas.com have ignited rumours about his possible exit and potential successor.
The odds indicate that Bradley could depart at any moment, with a 4/6 chance, fuelling speculation about his future. If Bradley does step down, his son Barney Walsh is a strong contender to take over, with odds of 5/1, just behind Stephen Mulhern at 2/1.
Other top candidates include Roman Kemp, also at 5/1, and Alexander Armstrong at 8/1. Lee Mack (9/1), Ben Shephard (10/1), and Clara Amfo (10/1) are also in contention.
Lee Astley from betideas.com remarked: “Bradley Walsh’s 16-year stint on The Chase could be coming to an end soon, with the presenter odds-on at 4/6 to leave the show anytime in 2025, and viewers seemingly fed up with his recent hosting duties.”, as reported by the Express. He further stated, “Should Walsh depart the programme, the most eye-catching name in the betting to replace him is his son Barney, who is 5/1 to step into his father’s shoes in the ITV series.”
Astley also pointed out: “Stephen Mulhern is the market favourite at 2/1 to become the show’s next presenter, with Roman Kemp (5/1) also in the running”, reports the Mirror.
Bradley is set to present his own three-part special Bradley Walsh’s Egypt’s Cosmic Code where he will uncover the secrets of the Sphinx, visit Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor, and bring his signature wit to the screen. In a thrilling teaser trailer, Bradley reveals his long-standing fascination with Egypt, saying: “I’ve had a fascination with Egypt and the pyramids for a very, very long time. It’s an anomaly, an absolute cornucopia of ideas and fantasies.”
As the trailer explores the historical context of Cleopatra VII’s downfall, it hints that much about that era remains unknown.
Questioning conventional theories about the pyramids’ origins, Walsh proposes his own ideas, stating: “It certainly wasn’t the ancient Egyptians, four and a half thousand years ago. I have different theories.”
The preview promises viewers: “With his Indiana Jones hat, his unique brand of entertainment, and his camel-riding technique, it’s fair to say that Bradley is unlike anyone the Egyptians (ancient or modern) have encountered before.”
