Jeremy Clarkson’s pub The Farmer’s Dog, which is set to feature in the next series of Clarkson’s Farm, has seen a number of people banned from the premises – including Keir Starmer
Jeremy Clarkson has a long list of famous faces that are banned from his pub.
The Top Gear presenter flung open the doors to his Oxfordshire pub The Farmer’s Dog in August 2024, a stone’s throw from his Diddly Squat Farm nestled in the Cotswolds. When the father-of-three unveiled the boozer he revealed that two people had already been banned from the establishment, reports the Express.
Clarkson put up a blacklist inside the pub, with prime minister Keir Starmer and his ex-Top Gear mate James May topping the no-entry chart. Chatting with Cathy Newman on Times Radio, Clarkson said: “He’s banned. Actually, he’s the first person to be banned. He’s actually on the board in the hall, he’s banned.”
A third name was soon added to the banned list, with Maddy Hornby joining Starmer and May. In a video shared on social media, Jonathan Hornby, the man behind many of the pub’s Instagram posts, asked Clarkson what was going on.
Clarkson responded bluntly: “I’m banning your daughter because she moaned after not being able to have Tabasco in her Bloody Mary. So she’s banned.” The reason for the absence of Tabasco at the pub is due to Clarkson’s aim to run a business that only supplies produce made in Great Britain.
As laughter echoed from behind the camera, Hornby concluded the clip by saying: “Keir Starmer, James May, Maddy Hornby. You’re all banned.”
The list has now grown to four, with fellow Top Gear and The Grand Tour presenter Richard Hammond joining the ranks alongside May. In a video for the DriveTribe YouTube channel, Hammond revealed: “Jeremy’s told me I’m already banned from his pub.”
James May added: “He told me that but I said to somebody: ‘That’s like being banned from the golf club.’ I’ve been banned from somewhere I wasn’t going to go anyway so what does it mean?”
Clarkson isn’t just banning people as he has reportedly banned coffee, lemonade and ketchup from the pub’s menu. Birmingham Live made these claims after a reporter dropping in for a Sunday roast.
They claimed: “You can’t have coffee, ketchup or lemonade, there’s a sign outside the pub explaining they don’t serve coffee or ketchup. The folks at the next table fancied a latte but got a polite no-go. I tried my luck asking for a cider shandy as soon as we got there, but was told they don’t stock lemonade.”
