Victoria Beckham shared a photo of her football legend husband David Beckham in hospital following a secret wrist operation – but he won’t let it disrupt his Fifa World Cup plans
David Beckham is recuperating in hospital following a wrist operation, but he’s not letting it interfere with his love for football. His devoted wife, Victoria Beckham, posted a photo of him resting in bed, his arm supported by a sling.
“Get well soon, Daddy,” she captioned the image, which showed him grinning in a hospital gown. She also gifted him a friendship bracelet crafted from white beads spelling out ‘Get Well Soon’.
The couple have yet to disclose what befell the ex-England ace. An insider close to David confirmed that Sir David secretly underwent surgery to mend a broken wrist he suffered 22 years ago – during a friendly football match against South Africa in 2003.
“It had been causing him issues recently and so he wanted to get it sorted,” the source verified. They also mentioned that he intended to leave the hospital shortly and “hoped” to make it to Atlanta in time for his Inter Miami football team’s upcoming knockout match in the Fifa World Cup against his former club Paris Saint Germain on Sunday, reports the Mirror.
David’s injury occurs amidst a family dispute involving eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz. Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, have been in the news lately due to rumours of a ‘feud’ with his family, including his parents David, 50, and Victoria, 51.
Brooklyn, expressing his affection for Nicola, whom he tagged, hinted in the caption that she is his world. He penned “my” next to a globe emoji.
Alongside a heart emoji, he also commented on the photo: “My absolute angel.”
A few hours later, he returned to his page to share a rare message of love towards his own family, wishing his grandmother Sandra a happy birthday with a post that included a photo of him beside her. Brooklyn wrote: “Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much.”
This is believed to be the first time he has reached out to his family on social media. Meanwhile, David posted his own heartfelt message to celebrate his mother’s birthday.
Despite the recent slew of social media digs and snubs from his son, he even gave Brooklyn a nod.
The caption of the post also mentioned David’s son Brooklyn, despite their alleged fallout. Brooklyn has missed many significant family events in recent months, with him and Nicola failing to attend Victoria’s 51st birthday or David’s milestone 50th birthday celebrations in Paris and London.
They have also remained silent since the news broke that the former England player has finally been awarded his long-awaited knighthood.
However, the hot sauce enthusiast made sure to wish Nicola’s father, Nelson, a happy birthday in a sweet post shared on his Stories this week.
