EastEnders' Linda Carter 'dies from overdose' as soap teases tragic exit twist

EastEnders ‘ Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) looks set for a tragic exit after hitting the bottle once again this week.

EastEnders spoilers have revealed that she and husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) will decide to sell the Queen Vic to help her avoid any more temptation, but it may be too little too late.

Linda was seen drinking this week after being shouted at by a grieving Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) as she berated her for drinking so much and getting Denny’s wake food wrong.

As Mick realises that Linda has started drinking again, he decides that it is time for a fresh start.

However, it looks like Linda could be set for a tragic exit, as EastEnders is the soap with the highest number of deaths from overdosing.

Seven characters have died in the tragic circumstances since the soap started, including Nick Cotton and legend Peggy Mitchell.

In comparison, Coronation Street has only had four deaths, most notably Hayley Cropper’s suicide by overdose in 2014 as she had been diagnosed from terminal cancer.

Emmerdale has had six overdoses, with Holly Barton’s tragic death by taking heroin leaving viewers in tears in 2016, and Alice Dingle’s assisted suicide in 2006 being the most remembered.

Could Linda be set to accidentally drink herself to death after relapsing once again?

Fans have been speculating that the pair could be about to exit both the pub and Walford, as they dropped some ominous hints this week.

Talking to their young son, Mick turned to Linda and told her that it was time to go, which she seemed to echo.

Could the soap be dropping a big hint that the pair are leaving for good, and will one of them be going in a body bag?

EastEnders continues on Monday at 8pm on BBC.
