TikTok star Siya Kakkar dies aged 16 in suspected suicide, manager confirms

TikTok star Siya Kakkar has taken her own life today in New Delhi, aged 16.

The social media influencer was well known for her dance videos and amassed more than 1.1million followers on the viral platform.

The news of her death was confirmed by her manager Arjun Sarin, who oversaw all her work and endorsements

He said: “This must be due to something personal… work wise she was doing well.

“I had a word with her last night for a new project and she sounded normal.

“Me and my company Fame Experts manage lots of artists and Siya was a bright talent.”

He added: “I am heading to her home in Preet Vihar.”

Viral Bhayani, a friend and photographer, posted a heartfelt tribute to Siya on Instagram alongside pictures of Siya.

Viral wrote: “Sad news 16-year-old sweet TikToker Siya Kakkar died by suicide.

“Before publishing this I spoke to her talent management agency head Arjun Sarin who just spoke to her last night for a song collaboration and he says she was in a good mood and perfectly alright.”

He went on to say: “Even he has no clue what went wrong that she had to go this way.

“You go through her videos and you can see she was so good in her content, it’s really sad that she chose this path.”

Viral finished his tribute by saying: “If you are feeling depressed please do not do this.”

Alongside TikTok, Siya was well known on other social media platforms including Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube.

Following the success of her popular dance clips, the star gained 104,000 followers on Instagram and more than 1.1million followers on TikTok.
