Dermot O’Leary shared his newborn son’s name on his BBC Radio 2 today show, as he returned to the hosting job.
The X Factor favourite, 47, and wife Dee Kopang, 41, welcomed their first child together ten days ago.
Speaking on the programme today, he said: “My lovely son came into the world ten days ago accompanied by Guy Garvey’s Elbow,” said Dermot, as he opened up about the soundtrack that accompanied Dee’s labour.
“So forgive this moment of brief self-indulge while we play the song that accompanied that.
“So this is for you Kasper with a K – my wife is very insistent on that,” Dermot giggled.
Dermot then introduced Elbow’s hit One Day Like This, as he said: “Kasper Koppang O’Leary welcome to the world.”
Dermot paid tribute to his young son right at the start of the show too, as he joked about sleepless nights.
He played The Beatles track I’m Only Sleeping and quipped that he would be napping between songs owing to his sleepless nights, due to looking after his newborn.
