Louis Tomlinson shares tribute to late mum as One Direction celebrate 10 years

Pop star Louis Tomlinson has paid a touching tribute to his late mother Johannah Deakin after the first ever One Direction group photo that she took emerged online.

The 28-year-old singer replied to a fan who shared the first group picture that Johannah took of the boyband, as well as the words she originally wrote alongside the image.

Replying to a tweet of the throwback snap of him and his band members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, Louis penned: “This made me smile.”

The original post written by Johannah reads: “…I went into full mum mode. I had gone to pick Louis up and he rang me about 7.30pm saying ‘can’t talk – they have put me in a band’ and the line went dead.

“…When he came out and explained briefly about the band I said let’s gather you all together and take the first ever pic.

“He was looking around the crowds outside trying to pick out the boys ha xx.”

Mother-of-seven Johannah died in 2016 at the age of 42 following a battle with leukaemia.

Louis’ youngster sister Félicité died in an accidental drug overdose just two years later aged just 18.

Influencer Lottie Tomlinson, Louis’s sister, opened up about her grief over her mother and sister earlier this year.

The makeup artist penned: “I couldn’t have ever asked for a better mum. She did everything for us, she made sure we had everything we needed. She had seven kids and we were just her life. I’m so lucky.

“I lost my mum three years ago and then I lost my sister about nine months ago.

“But I just really wanted to do this because I want to try and help people because it is such a scary thing at first and I want to educate people on how they can help someone who is grieving.”

It’s been a decade since One Direction were formed on The X Factor back in 2010.

The boyband didn’t manage to win the show but they are undoubtedly the most successful act to ever come from the ITV singing show.

Zayn quit the band in 2015 and the rest of the boys announced they would be going on hiatus a year later.

1D fans are desperate for new music from their beloved boyband but it appears they’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the boys back together again.

Fingers crossed for a One Direction reunion tour in 2021.
